Scribenote is the only veterinary software that is intensely focused on making the problem of burdensome documentation go away.
How do we do this? Scribenote unlocks many options as to how and when you can complete your SOAP notes:
You could jot down some notes between appointments on our mobile app and save them as drafts.
You could record appointments and refer to them later, or just record little notes to yourself.
You could chip away at your notes when you have the time, or you can do them in one focused session with Super SOAP.
NEW You could use the Auto-SOAP feature to simply record a summary of your appointment and get a complete SOAP note in return!
You don't have to choose between being home for dinner and getting your documentation done. You could even write your notes while you're enjoying a nice relaxing bath at home with a glass of wine in hand... you might even make it a bubble bath with all those SOAPs you knock out 🛁 We've got a bunch of features that hopefully add up to big time/effort savings for you - depending on how you choose to use them. Auto-SOAP, Auto-exporting, bulk exporting, templates, drafts, autocomplete, etc. Check them all out on our features page.
Does Scribenote have billing/invoicing/scheduling features? 🧾
In short, no.
Our intention with Scribenote is to provide an effortless documentation platform that works really well. Instead of having 100's of features that sort of work or are difficult to figure out, we chose to do one thing — SOAP notes — really well. As a small, early-stage independent team, we can only work on so much at once.
That's not to say that one day we won't have these features, but we want to make sure they'll save you time and effort instead of being clunky and hard to use... and that takes time! So, please bear with us. 🐻
Can I record full consultations with Scribenote? 📼
Our Auto-SOAP feature works best using short (2-5 min) appointment summaries. Recording a full consultation/appointment will not produce the best results.
Alternatively, you don't have to use Auto-SOAPs, instead you can choose to simply record an appointment as a standard recording and refer to it as you type out your notes. Ensure that you have the consent of your client before doing so.
What are the legal/privacy implications of recording appointments? 📜
We've spent a lot of time (and money) trying to ensure we got legal, privacy, and security right.
The most important thing when it comes to recording clinical conversations is that you must get the informed consent of your client before recording the appointment audio. This responsibility is further explained in our Terms of Service. If your client does not consent, you must not record.
Your clients are also welcome to engage us any time if they have any questions or concerns, but to be clear, we have no direct relationship with your customers. Any information that we collect on our customer's behalf (you ☺️) is subject to the privacy policies of those customers, which we do not control.
For more information, please read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. You should also direct your customers to these resources.
Do I need a microphone? 🎙
Well... Sometimes.
You can record your appointments on the Scribenote web, iOS, or Android app. With most modern devices, the audio quality should be great enough to listen back to anytime.
Is Scribenote an EMR ? Do I need to switch from my EMR? 🖥
Yes... and no. Scribenote is an EMR in that it allows you to manage your patient's medical records, however Scribenote does not have the typical range of full EMR functionality such as billing, inventory, scheduling, etc.
Many of our customers use Scribenote as their only EMR because they do not need those extended functionalities, and are simply looking for an affordable and delightful documentation system. However, many also use Scribenote alongside their existing EMR because they love our effortless documentation workflows.
We've made it easy to integrate Scribenote into your daily documentation workflow, no matter which EMR you use. SOAP notes made in Scribenote can be exported into a neat n' tidy PDF document, which can then be imported or attached to the patient records in your EMR of choice. You can do this yourself or you could send your notes in one click to an assistant who can then attach them for you. We've even added auto exporting emails - if you need to regularly send your notes to an assistant, every SOAP you make can be automatically sent off to that assistant without you even needing to think about it.
Though this isn't a direct integration into EMRs, it was the most balanced approach we could think of to allow Scribenote to be used with any EMR while we are still brand new and have a really small team. We'd like to get to direct integration over time!
Do you have an offline mode? ⛺️
Not quite. However, if you're using recordings on Scribenote mobile app, your recordings will be saved regardless if you have an internet connection or not. When you re-connect to the internet, you'll be able to sync your recordings to our online servers and work on your notes from anywhere!
